Durham University Rugby League, would like to present our new community Rugby League scheme and team:- Durham Miners Rugby League.
From October 2009, Durham University Rugby League Football Club would like to invite males (aged 18-25) from the local community to come down to the Graham Sport Centre (Durham) on Monday nights at 7:30pm to sample the game of Rugby League. From little or no experience, to years of playing the game all are welcome to come down and join in training with us. For those new to the game there will be an emphasis on touch rugby league and the basics of the game and those with more experience are free to join in with contact and more technical aspects of the game. The program allows participants to take the game at your own pace and goes beyond the game on the field to offer advice on improving athletic performance (such as nutritional, strength and conditioning). Best of all, there is no subscription to our community members so will not cost you a penny.
Durham University Rugby League would like to thank The RL Foundation, V fund and all of our sponsors for financially aiding our development program. We would like to further thank Rugby Football League for backing our program, Team Durham for helping us facilitate this scheme and to Jade Mackie (North East Youth Volunteer Co-ordinator for the RFL) for promoting our program.
